The "Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes" nature park was founded in 1985 and is located in the South of Mauritius with a 3,5 hectares of nature, the home to various species of animals, reptiles and plants. The largest captive group of Aldabra tortoises in the world including 1000 Tortoises (Radiata from Madagascar & Aldabra from Seychelles) older at 95 years old. 2000 Nile Crocodiles as well as other animals such as monkeys, iguanas, bats, deer, geckos, eels, wild boars and more.
The natural park have an insectarium with one of the world’s largest private collections (23000 species) of butterflies and other insects, children corner as well as a museum featuring hundreds of ammonite fossils from Madagascar of 100 million years under the sea.
Photo souvenir is available and a restaurant in the heart of the nature with exotic range of Mauritians dishes, crocodiles meat and various drinks and snacks.
